Design agency Gagarin will be awarded the Red Dot Award for Communication Design for ‘Powering the Future’, an exhibition designed to mark the 50thanniversary of Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland.
Located in one of Iceland’s oldest hydro stations, Ljósafossstöð,
it’s an interactive visitor centre that allows anyone to learn the basics of electrical power, the discoveries that led to the mass production of electricity and the development of harnessing renewable energy in Iceland today.
The exhibition was designed by Gagarín
in collaboration with Tvíhorf Architects
Awarded annually in various different categories, the Red Dot
is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world. This year designers and companies from a total of 46 countries competed for the award.
