Exhibition | 1:1 - Archtects Build Small Spaces

Icelandic architect, Dagur Eggertsson in collaboration with Sami Rintala were invited to be participants in the exhibition 1:1 Architects Build Small Spaces in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

The Victoria & Albert Museum invited nineteen architects to submit proposals for structures that examine notions of refuge and retreat. From these nineteen concept submissions, seven were selected for construction at full-scale. They were one of the seven teams of international architects invited to take part in the exhibition with their installation, ARK.

Rintala Eggertsson Architects, based in Norway, installed the booktower ARK in the museum's stairway located near the museum's bookstore on the groundfloor, rising to the National Art Library on the second floor.

Being invited to take part in a exhibition in the Victoria & Albert Museum is a great honor, for it is the first and oldest design museum in the world. Established after the World Fair in London in 1850 and is the largest museum of it's kind in the world.

The Exhibition has had wide coverage in the media and for further information and articles please check out: The Guardian, The Times, BBC World (on 16:22 minute), TimeOut, dezeen.com og ArchDaily.

The Exhibition will be on display till the 30th of August.
