Orkuverið (Powerhouse)  is a forum for designers to meet with business graduates who are interested in working with designers. The encounter will be at the University of Iceland, Háskólatorg, on Wednesday the 18th of February 2009.

This is the second Powerhouse encounter of its kind, the first having been highly successful: for instance business graduate Guðbjörg Jóhannsdóttir and designer Siggi Anton established collaboration: they are working on their business plan, and applying for grants and finance for a number of joint projects. 

All designers who are interested in working with business graduates are urged to attend.

The encounter is arranged between 5-10 designers and 5-10 business graduates: four minutes are allocated for each encounter.

The Powerhouse project is a collaborative project between the Iceland Design Center and Innovit; center for innovation and entrepreneurship. Powerhouse is a forum for establishing successful collaboration between designers and business graduates, with the aim of bringing together people from very different backgrounds to found new businesses. Experience shows that innovation often springs from coalescence between diverse fields, and the energy of individuals who apply their talents to open new dimensions, to achieve the optimum results.
