DesignMarch 2014 | DESIGNMATCH
A speed dating of sorts for Icelandic designers and Nordic design companies, DesignMatch brings together local designers and international design producers, retailers, galleries and other design actors in short meetings.
Design
Match takes place in the Nordic House, designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.
Previous partaking companies include Artek, One Nordic Furniture Company, Epal, Iittala, Design House Stockholm and Normann Copenhagen. Products followed by a successful DesignMatch meeting include Stone Hooks by Helga Sigurbjarnadóttir for Normann Copenhagen and Calendar by Snaefrid & Hildigunnur for Wrong for HAY.
Design
Match is organized by Iceland Design Centre in collaboration with the Nordic House.
How It Works
1. Designers are invited to send in 3 items, ideas along with a PDF with information on designers themselves and the designs.
2. Representatives of companies receive the portfolios and may choose designers that they would like to meet.
3. We set up meetings that will take place on March 28 at the Nordic House in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Why Partake
For Nordic producers and design companies Design
Match gives an efficient, effortless channel to scan the Icelandic design scene for new ideas and suitable partners, with all meetings arranged for one day and one place by our team, a lot of time and effort is left to explore the festival program.
For Icelandic designers, Design
Match gives a unique opportunity to network and pitch ideas to the leading design actors in Scandinavia.
