DesignMarch

is an annual, four-day design festival, colouring the city of Reykjavík and throwing light on new opportunities. Whether it is Icelandic designers exhibiting interesting new designs, work in progress or old favourites, the aim of DesignMarch is to create a refreshing town fair, where Icelandic design meets the media, the public and tourists.

All over the city - in abandoned warehouses, shops, galleries, restaurants and even in the streets - an exciting program, a wide variety of interesting events, lectures and exhibitions, reflecting the versatility of Icelandic design and architecture is on view.

Iceland Design Centre now celebrates its second anniversary. During the brief time it has operated, a great awakening has taken place in regards to interest in design and the creative powers and possibilities of Icelandic design.

The promotion of Icelandic design, at home and overseas, is among Icelandic Design Centre’s principal roles. DesignMarch is our most important undertaking: a four-day festival for designers, companies and design enthusiasts;
the public, foreign guests and tourists. During DesignMarch, you will get the opportunity to explore a variety of projects by Icelandic designers and architects.

DesignMarch brings colour and brightness to the city of Reykjavik and around the country – signalling the arrival of summer and new possibilities. We hope you will seize the opportunity to learn about Icelandic design and architecture, and look forward to seeing you at Design March 2011!
